The General Medical Council is the independent regulator for doctors in the UK and regulates in the context of a globalised healthcare workforce, where the UK medical workforce is increasingly international and ethnically diverse. The GMC is dedicated to protecting patients across the four countries of the United Kingdom by ensuring high standards of medical education and practice. It does this by working with doctors, government health departments, employers, medical educators and patient groups.
Our vision is to be an effective, relevant and compassionate regulator to support the medical profession to deliver first-class patient care. As health services in the UK continue to face intense pressure, regulation has a pivotal role to play in protecting patients and promoting the wellbeing of the profession.
We are looking for a number of senior leaders for critical appointments in the GMC – individuals with an interest in our work, who will bring a commitment to shaping healthcare in the years ahead. Please have a look at the opportunities on the site and if you would like to discuss any of these further, please get in touch.
